The Diary of a Country Dog

About

Welcome! My name is Amos Heuser, PhD, MS, BS, ACE. I am a 7 year old Border Collie with lots of education and experience studying the subject that matters most to doggies: the world around us.

First a bit about my education and career:

I have a PhD(oggie) in Geology.  I am known to my closest colleagues in the more confidential area of my work in this field as Top Secret Agent Dug.

Me after a ruff day collecting soil samples.

I have a Master of Sniffery in Ethology with a focus on moles and squirrels;

Me conducting a field experiment at the local mole hole (No moles were harmed in the taking of this picture, unfortunately).

And a Barker of Science in archeology specializing in the excavation of ancient dog toy remains I have hidden my self over the years and forgot about. Here is a brief and inexhaustive outline of what I do in this line of work:

[Excavation is the technique used by] archaeolog[ists] to dig, uncover, identify, process, and record archaeological remains [of dog toys and small animals].  Early excavation techniques involved destructive random digging and removal of objects with little or no location data recorded.

(My personal technique closely resembles the “early excavation techniques” (if it ain’t broke don’t fix it))

Me when I was much younger getting certified. A lot they knew. I coulda taught the class.

Last but not least, I am an Associate Curious Entomologist (ACE).  I specialize in cricket and bee tasting.   ============================>

Here are some other random facts about me:

My birthday is January 9th, 2017. My favorite color is blue. My favorite song is Bird Dog by the Everly Brothers.  My favorite movie is Lady and the Tramp.  My favorite treats are Nudges Steak Grillers. My favorite toys are my squeak ball and my rubber bone (I have lost my rubber bone and am currently undertaking the long arduous process of excavating for it. (donations of treats for energy in this process are appreciated.)). I love peanut butter, ice cubes, treats, belly rubs, cheese, new toys, and crickets. I was recently featured on the well known youtube channel Retro Redbud giving my considered analysis of their doggie meatballs. (Watch the video here!)

This is me:

When I’m not snoofing out moles, excavating the yard, or barking at nothing, you can find me in my cozy insulated house with my snoot sticking out or reluctantly tasting some (usually disgusting) treats my humans made for me.

If you watch my diary, you will learn all about me, my day-to-day adventures, my friends, and my pack of humans. I hope you will find it interesting and join me on all my adventures (except the confidential ones).

P.S. Please pardon my spelling, I only 7 and don’t know how make many words yet.
